As I reflect upon this past Summer’s AIM Convention I am still basking in joy engendered by the provocative presentations that were given at our COGIC Scholars Academic sessions. I am particularly grateful to the presenters and respondents who so willingly gave of their time and talent in support of this COGIC Scholars initiative. Special thanks is extended to Evangelist Dr. De’Borah Donald who shared her expertise on Church Crisis Intervention, Elder Elijah Hill who presented on his latest book,

The Azusa Street Revival and Dr. Rufus Sanders who offered a provocative critique, Sister Anjulet Tucker for her moving presentation on Dr. Malory and Saints Junior College and Academy, Dr. Pekola Roberts who presented by demonstration and text on the ministry of liturgical dance in COGIC, Elder Joseph D. Williams who presented from his book, Our Pentecostal Birthright, and Dr. Shalanda Dexter who provided a loving and thoughtful analysis of the CD recording Celebrating the Homegoing of Our Founder Bishop C.H. Mason. Each presentation was followed by passionate and stimulating discussion.

Taking us to another level was our keynote speaker Dr. Samuel Byron Hogan Sr. who addressed us at our annual AIM Fellowship Dinner challenging us as scholars to “Carry the Bones.” Special appreciation goes to Practical Christian Living Christian Center of Detroit for their gracious hospitality making our dinner a success. We look forward to furthering this conversation of scholars at the upcoming Holy Convocation.
